Connecticut Gives Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Grants

In fiscal year 2007, the Connecticut Department of Agriculture introduced a new grant program to provide up to $40,000 in vaccination/sterilization benefits for feral cats. The Humane Society of the United States - October 14, 2005 – Media Release

WASHINGTON - The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) today announced that it is developing new programs designed to help communities across the country manage feral cat colonies.

The HSUS is developing more resources to help feral cat caretakers around the country. The HSUS’s new resources will include:  

  • A new statement supporting Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR) programs
  • An online course through Humane Society University for feral cat caretakers
  • An online course through Humane Society University for animal shelters and adoption groups
  • A day-long workshop on feral cats at The HSUS's annual Animal Care Expo in Anaheim, Calif. in March 2006
  • Increased support materials for handling obstacles to feral cat management

Groundbreaking set for new Animal Care Center – San Francisco SPCA

The SF/SPCA is proud to announce that groundbreaking for the new Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center will take place on Thursday, October 4, 2007 inside the warehouse adjacent to Maddie's Pet Adoption Center. When completely renovated, this building will house a world-class Hospital, Spay/Neuter Clinic and Feral Cat Assistance Program facility. The Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center will substantially increase the ability of The SF/SPCA to save more animals' lives in the future.
